Migne - Migne (English spelling) Jacques Paul Migne

French Catholic theologian and publisher of the Church Fathers' collection. He first served as a priest near Orléans (1824-33), but then moved to Paris to publish the newspaper L'Univers (founded November 1833) and fight against the July Monarchy's oppression of liberalism. He was blessed with business acumen and learned friends, and published a huge number of historical documents and documents related to the church. These include 25 volumes of Commentaries on the Bible (1838-40) from the 17th and 18th centuries, 28 volumes of Theological Treatises (1839-45) from the 16th to 19th centuries, 16 volumes of the Most Important Apologies (1842-43) from Tertullian to Wiesmann, and 52 volumes of Theological Works (1844-52). The Latin Fathers' Collection (1844-55) and the Greek Fathers' Collection (161 volumes) are still highly valued today.

フランスのカトリックの神学者、教父集編集刊行者。最初オルレアン付近で司祭の職にあったが（1824～33）、パリに出て新聞『世界』L'Univers（1833.11創刊）を発行して7月王政の自由主義に対する弾圧と戦った。彼は商才と学識ある友人に恵まれ、次々に、しかも膨大な教会関係の史料や文献を刊行した。17、18世紀の『聖書注解』25巻（1838～40）、16世紀から19世紀までの『神学論文叢書(そうしょ)』28巻（1839～45）、テルトゥリアヌスからウィーズマンに至る『最重要護教論集』16巻（1842～43）、神学全書52巻（1844～52）などがあり、『ラテン教父集』217巻（1844～55）と『ギリシア教父集』161巻（1857～66）はいまなお珍重されている。
