Atargatis

Japanese: アタルガティス(英語表記)Atargatis
Atargatis
The great goddess of ancient Syria. She was associated with fertility and was often depicted as half human and half fish. Her temple at Hierapolis was the largest and most magnificent in Syria, and included a sacred fish pond, where she was worshipped together with her husband, Hadad. After the 3rd century BCE, her cult as the "Syrian goddess" spread throughout the Hellenistic world, including Greece, and even as far as England.
