A former town in Kayabe County, Hokkaido. Located on the east coast of the Kameda Peninsula, it has little flat land. Fishing is the main industry, and wakame and kombu collection is popular. There are many scenic spots and hot springs, such as Kakumi Pass, Kakumi Onsen, and Isoya Onsen. In December 2004, it was incorporated into Hakodate City along with Toi Town, Esan Town, and Tonohokke Village in Kameda County. 158.35 km2 . 7,510 people (2003).
