Subashiri - Quick

This district is located at the western edge of Oyamacho, Sunto District, Shizuoka Prefecture. Formerly known as Subashiri Village. Located at an altitude of about 800 meters, it is the starting point of the Fuji mountain climbing trail (Fuji East Trail, Subashiri Trail). Subashiri Sengen Shrine is the main shrine at the Subashiri Trail. National Route 138 and the East Fuji Five Lakes Road pass through the area. A bus runs from JR Gotemba Station to the Subashiri Trail 5th Station. In recent years, tourism has developed significantly, and there are numerous golf courses, hot springs, and leisure facilities with swimming pools and tennis courts. The Ground Self-Defense Force Fuji School and the East Fuji Training Area are located here, and about a quarter of the district's population are members of the Self-Defense Forces.

静岡県駿東(すんとう)郡小山町(おやまちょう)西端部の地区。旧須走村。標高約800メートルに位置し、富士登山口（富士東口登山道、須走口）の起点。須走浅間神社(せんげんじんじゃ)は須走口の本宮である。国道138号、東富士五湖道路が通じる。JR御殿場駅から須走口五合目までバスが通じる。近年、観光開発が著しく、多数のゴルフ場、温泉をはじめプール、テニスコートを備えたレジャー施設がある。陸上自衛隊富士学校、東富士演習場があり、地区人口の約4分の1を自衛隊員が占める。
