...Six or more sand sacs are arranged like beads on the 12th segment. Most species of the Moniligastridae family are found in the south, such as India, the Philippines, and the Malay Peninsula, so it is unique that this species is the only one that lives in Japan. In the past, eels were caught using this earthworm as bait near Hatta Town.
