...From the mouth, a short esophagus leads to the stomach cavity, which then connects to four stomach pouches. At the bottom of the stomach pouch is an organ called the gastric filament, which is a collection of finger-like projections. The nematocysts in this organ further anesthetize the prey and secrete digestive juices to digest it. Inside the stomach pouch are horseshoe-shaped ovaries, or testes, which become purple when mature and are clearly visible even from above the umbrella.
