Tales of Mikawa - Tales of Mikawa

This is an autobiography of Okubo Tadataka (Hikozaemon), a bannerman of the early Edo period. It has three volumes and three books. It is also called "Okubo Hikozaemon's Notes" and "Sanshu-ki". The draft was completed in 1622 (Genwa 8). The first volume describes the achievements of the Tokugawa clan up until Ieyasu's father, Hirotada, while the middle and third volumes describe the process by which Ieyasu became a daimyo of five provinces, Mikawa, Totomi, Suruga, Kai, and Shinano, and the achievements of the Okubo clan. The third volume contains lessons for his descendants, and criticizes the lack of respect for the hereditary retainers who contributed to the founding of the Tokugawa clan. It is included in "Bushido Zenshu 8", "Ieyasu Shiryoshu - Sengoku Shiryo Sosho" and "Nihon Shiso Taikei 26".

江戸前期の旗本大久保忠教(ただたか)（彦左衛門）の自伝。三巻三冊。『大久保彦左衛門筆記』『参州記』などともいう。1622年（元和8）に草稿が成立。上巻は家康の父広忠(ひろただ)までの徳川氏の事績、中巻・下巻は家康が三河、遠江(とおとうみ)、駿河(するが)、甲斐(かい)、信濃(しなの)の五か国大名となる過程と、大久保氏の功績が述べられている。下巻には子孫への教訓が記されており、そのなかで、徳川氏創業に功労のあった譜代(ふだい)家臣が重んじられていないと批判している。『武士道全集八』『家康史料集――戦国史料叢書(そうしょ)』『日本思想大系26』に所収。
