Manseki Rebellion - Manseki no Ran

Japanese: 万積の乱 - まんせきのらん

A slave rebellion during the military government of Goryeo, Korea. In 1170, a coup d'état by military officials including Jeong Jung-bu overthrew the civil government and replaced it with a military government, but political instability continued as the military killed each other. During this period, there were successive uprisings by peasants and common people, but in 98 (the first year of Emperor Shinjong's reign), six private slaves including Man-jeok gathered public and private slaves and set a date to rise up in unison, first killing the supreme authority, Choi Chung-heon, then the private slaves killed their masters and the official slaves killed officials within the palace, and they proposed burning the slaves' family registers to liberate all public and private slaves.

朝鮮，高麗の武人政権時代の奴隷反乱。1170年に鄭仲夫ら武臣のクーデタで文臣政権が倒れ武人政権が出現したが，武人相互の殺し合いで政情不安が続いた。その時期に農民･賤民の一揆反乱が続発したが，98年(神宗1年)私奴万積ら6人が公私の奴隷を集め，日を定めて一斉蜂起し，まず最高権力者崔忠献を殺し，私奴はそれぞれ主人を，官奴は宮城内で役人を殺し，奴隷の戸籍台帳を焼いていっさいの公私奴隷を解放しようと提案した。
