Marañón [river] - Marañón
The main source of the Amazon River in South America. It originates in the Andes in central-western Peru, flows north, turns northwest and flows through the Amazon Basin, and merges with the Ucayali River, the second largest river, to form the Amazon River about 90 km south of Iquitos. The total length is 1,414 km.
