A town in Kitashitara District, eastern Aichi Prefecture. It is located in the eastern part of the Mino-Mikawa Plateau, and its northern end borders Nagano Prefecture. The main settlement, Taguchi, is a former post town on the Ina Highway (National Route 257). The town is involved in agriculture and forestry, producing rice and vegetables. It also produces lumber and cultivates freshwater fish. Its landmarks include Kuroda Dam, Takanosuyama (1,153m), and Chausuyama (1,416m). It is famous for its flower festival and the Dengaku ceremony at Damine Kannon. In October 2005, Tsugu Village, Kitashitara District, was incorporated. 273.94 km2 . 5,769 people (2010).
