Japanese: 松坂屋[株] - まつざかや

It started as a kimono merchant Ito-ya, founded in Nagoya in 1611 (and expanded to Edo Ueno in 1768). In 1910 it became a modern department store under the name Ito Gofukuten Co., Ltd., and in 1924 opened the Ginza store, the first in Japan to allow customers to enter with shoes on throughout the building. In 1925 it became a major department store with its current name. In 2006 it transitioned to a holding company system and became a subsidiary of Matsuzakaya Holdings. In September 2007 it and Daimaru established a joint holding company, J. Front Retailing, and merged. In June 2013, the Ginza store closed in line with the redevelopment of the area. It is scheduled to reopen in the same location around 2017, when the redevelopment is completed.

1611年名古屋に創業の呉服商伊藤屋（1768年江戸上野にも進出）が始まり。1910年（株）いとう呉服店として近代的百貨店になり，1924年日本ではじめて全館土足入場の銀座店を開店。1925年現社名となった大手百貨店。2006年持株会社制に移行し，松坂屋ホールディングスの傘下企業となった。2007年９月に大丸と共同持株会社〈J.フロントリテイリング〉を設立し経営統合。2013年６月，地区の再開発に合わせて銀座店を閉店。再開発終了の2017年ごろ同地に再出店する予定である。
