...Types with wide, short leaves are preferred. A. filifera Salm.cv.Compacta (Ouhisasanoyuki) is similar in shape, but is a small species with a diameter of less than 10cm, with wide, neat, and beautiful leaves. A. potatorum Zucc. (Raijin), with its powdery blue-green leaves and strong thorns, is also often cultivated.
