A general term for insects that damage pine trees. There are many insects that kill pine trees. Beetles from the families Scolytidae, Curculionidae, and Cerambycidae bore into the wood and damage it. Representative insects include the pine bark beetle, the pine spot weevil, the Japanese pine sawyer, and the Japanese black longhorn beetle. Insects that eat leaves include the pine moth of the family Lasiocampidae in the order Lepidoptera, and the pine needle gall midge of the family Cecidomyiidae in the order Diptera.

マツを食害する昆虫の総称。マツ類を枯らす昆虫は多数ある。甲虫目のキクイムシ科,ゾウムシ科,カミキリムシ科のものは材に穿入し食害する。マツノキクイムシ,マツシラホシゾウムシ,マツノマダラカミキリ,クロカミキリなどが代表的。葉を食べるものには鱗翅目カレハガ科のマツカレハ,双翅目タマバエ科のマツバノタマバエなどがある。
