The act of writing or creating text as quickly and automatically as possible, without being controlled by consciousness or technique. It was invented by Breton in 1919 and became one of the methodological principles of Surrealism. It aims to freely express the inner thoughts and unconsciousness of humans that are suppressed by reason and social morality, and is important as an attempt to reexamine the existence of the "writing subject." A typical work is "Magnetic Field" (1920), co-written by Breton and Soupault. → Related topics Frottage | Masson Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
