…Other catalogs that have the characteristics of basic star catalogs include the BGC Catalogue (1937) by Lewis Boss (1846-1912), which contains 33,342 stars, and the N-30, which contains 5,268 stars. The AGK Catalogue (short for Astronomische Gesellschaft Catalog), which is a representative catalog compiled by meridian circular observations of even slightly faint stars based on the stars in the basic star catalog, began in 1869 when 15 observatories shared and observed the stars in the Bonn Catalogue by declination band. The first edition of the AGK1 star catalog was published between 1890 and 1910, and contained 144,000 stars. Later, the latitude band was expanded and the accuracy of proper motion was improved, and the third edition, the AGK3 star catalog, was compiled in the 1960s. In the end, 200,000 stars were listed in accordance with FK4. …
