Maui [island] - Maui
An island in the US state of Hawaii. Located northwest of the Big Island of Hawaii, it is the second largest island in the state. Two volcanoes join to form one island, and the southeastern volcano is Mount Haleakala, which is the center of Haleakala National Park. The main city is Wailuku. Sugarcane cultivation is thriving. 1,886 km2 . 144,444 people (2010).
