Also known as the Sterling Block. Broadly speaking, it refers to the countries that are financially and economically united around the British pound, but strictly speaking, it refers to a group of countries that link their own currency to the British pound, hold currency reserves in pounds, and conduct trade and other external transactions in pounds.
