...It is thought that they adapted to the warm shallow waters of the open ocean and lived a benthic life. Species such as Pseudoschwagerina and Verbeekina , which have relatively thin shells, large spherical chambers, and large chambers, may have lived a planktonic life. They did not live in areas deeper than the euphotic zone.
