Italian poet and writer. In his poetry collections "Old Coins" (1955) and "The Gates of the Apennines" (1960), he sings of the scenery of his hometown and the old peasant world. His debut novel, "Memoriale" (1962), attracted attention. Since then, he has written many unique works that question the modern world through themes of madness and anger, such as "The Machine Called the World" (1965), "Corporale" (1974), "The Principality's Stage Curtain" (1975), the sci-fi comic-like "The Angry Planet" (1978), and "The Spear-Throwing Man" (1981).
