Born: 1716, Kumamoto [Died] April 24, 1793 (Kansei 5). Kumamoto. A chief retainer of the Kumamoto Domain in the mid-Edo period. His pen name was Kimishaku. He was commonly known as Heitazaemon. His pen name was Sugumo. He was a retainer with a stipend of 500 koku, but in August 1747 (Enkyo 4), he was discovered by Hosokawa Shigetaka, the new lord of the domain, and was made chief magistrate to take charge of the so-called Horeki Reforms. He worked to improve finances and education, and was promoted to chief retainer through the ranks of a middle elder and reached 3,500 koku. In 1792 (Kansei 4), he fell ill and retired.
