Crotalus

…A general term for 28 species of Crotalus and 3 species of Sistrurus , venomous snakes of the Viperidae family and subfamily Crotalinae, which have a special sound-producing organ at the end of their tails. They are found from southeastern Canada through Central America to Argentina in South America.
