The Worship Rebellion - Bohai no Ran

Japanese: 哱拝の乱 - ボハイのらん

This was a rebellion that occurred in Ningxia Town (now Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region) in China at the end of the Ming Dynasty. It is counted as one of the three great campaigns of the Wanli period, along with Toyotomi Hideyoshi's subsequent invasion of Korea and the rebellion of Miao Tusi Yang Yinglong. Qibai was from a Mongolian tribe and fled to the Ming Dynasty during the Jiajing period (1522-66). After several military achievements, he was appointed deputy commander of the Ningxia Town military in 1589 (17th year of the Wanli period), a position his son Qi Cheng'en succeeded. When a campaign was launched on the Tao River in 1591, Qibai and his son requested to join the army, but the governor's party advisor was unhappy and did not provide them with horses.

中国，明末に寧夏鎮(現，寧夏回族自治区銀川市)で起きた反乱事件。引き続いて起きた豊臣秀吉の朝鮮の役，ミヤオ(苗)族土司楊応竜の反乱とともに万暦の三大征の一つに数えられる。哱拝はモンゴル系の一部族の出身で，嘉靖年間(1522‐66)に逃れて明朝に来降し，その後数回の戦功によって1589年(万暦17)寧夏鎮の副総兵に任ぜられ，子の哱承恩がその職を継いだ。91年洮河（とうが）に出征があった際，哱拝父子は願い出て従軍したが，巡撫の党馨（とうけい）はこれをにくんで軍馬を支給しなかった。
