Ho Quy Ly (English spelling)

1336‐1407
Founder of the Ho Dynasty (1400-07) in Vietnam. Originally surnamed Le. His family had been related by marriage to the court since the 5th Tran Dynasty emperor Minh Thong (Mingzong), and the 9th emperor Geton (Yi Thong) and the 10th emperor Duệ Thong (Rui Thong) were his cousins. He was highly trusted by both Geton and Duệ Thong, and after Duệ Thong was killed in battle against Champa in 1377, he took control of the military. In 1388, he killed the 11th deposed emperor and installed his son-in-law, Tua Thong (Shunzong), on the throne, and in 1395, he took control as the Chief Registrar of the Imperial Court.

ベトナムのホー(胡)朝(1400‐07)の創始者。もとの姓はレ(黎)。その一族はチャン(陳)朝の5代ミントン(明宗)帝以来宮室と外戚関係にあり，9代ゲトン(芸宗)帝，10代ズエトン(睿宗)帝は彼のいとこにあたる。ゲトン，ズエトン2帝の信任あつく，1377年ズエトンが対チャンパ戦に戦死したのちは軍の実権を握り，88年には11代廃帝を殺して女婿のトゥアトン(順宗)を即位させ，95年には入内輔政大師として実権を握った。
