A collection of laws published by the government. Edited and published by the National Printing Bureau. It is supposed to include constitutional amendments, certificates, treaties, laws, orders, notices, etc. published in the Official Gazette during that month (Order on the Publication of the Official Gazette, Complete Book of Laws, Official Directory, etc. 5). The first issue was the "January 18th Year of the Meiji Era" published by the Dajokan Document Bureau in 1885. After that, issues were compiled from the proclamation announcing the return of power to the Emperor by Tokugawa Yoshinobu on October 15, 1867 (Keio 3) to the end of 1884, and have been continued to the present day. 政府発刊の法令集。編集刊行は国立印刷局。当月内の官報に掲載された憲法改正,証書,条約,法律,命令,告示などが収録されることになっている (官報,法令全書,職員録等の発行に関する命令5) 。初刊は 1885年太政官文書局が出した『明治 18年1月号』である。その後,慶応3 (1867) 年 10月 15日の徳川慶喜の大政奉還を報じる布告から,1884年末までの分も編集され現在まで継承されている。
