A former town in Jobo County, central Okayama Prefecture. The main settlement, Arima Ichiba, is located along the Arima River and is a key transportation hub between Ochiai and Takahashi. Tobacco cultivation is thriving, and the area also produces rice, muscat grapes, and vegetables. In October 2004, it was incorporated into Takahashi City along with the towns of Naruwa, Kawakami, and Bitchu in Kawakami County. 46.69 km2 . 2,775 people (2003).
