Among the neoclassical architects from the 1750s onwards, there were those who pursued abstract and geometric architectural forms, such as Ledoux, Boulet, Giry and Soane, and there were also theorists such as Marc-Antoine Laugier (1713-69), who envisioned an idealized prototype for architecture. Here we can see one of the beginnings of modern architecture.
