An English Catholic bishop who died in Finland. He first went to Uppsala, Sweden, where he served as bishop, but in the spring of 1155, he traveled with Prince Eric to Finland near Pori and began evangelizing. This was the first time Christianity was officially introduced to Finland, but it did not produce much success. Bishop Henry was killed on a frozen lake by a farmer who did not approve of Christianity. According to legend, this happened on January 20, 1156.

フィンランドで没したイギリス人のカトリック司教。初めスウェーデンのウプサラに渡り，そこで司教をしていたが，1155年春王子エリックとともに，フィンランドのポリの近くに渡り，キリスト教の布教活動を行った。フィンランドにキリスト教が公式に伝えられた最初だが，さしたる成果は上がらなかった。ヘンリク司教が，キリスト教をよく思わないある農夫に，氷結した湖上で殺されてしまったからである。言い伝えでは，1156年1月20日のこととされている。
