Front 15 - Back 19 Roman politician and soldier. Eldest son of Emperor Tiberius's brother, NC Drusus, and husband of Agrippina the Elder. Adopted by Tiberius in 4 AD, he served in Pannonia and Germania at a young age, and in 13 AD became military commander in the Rhine region. From 14 to 16 AD, he fought against Germanic tribes and achieved many feats. In 17 AD, Tiberius gave him superior command of the eastern provinces, and he toured Armenia and Asia, but he suddenly died in 19 AD in Antioch, Syria. One theory is that he was poisoned by Piso, the governor of Syria, who was in conflict with Tiberius, and Tiberius. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
