…Candelilla wax, obtained from Pedilanthus pavonis and Euphorbia antisyphilitica , which are Euphorbiaceae found in North America and Mexico, is also commercially available and is used for candles, records, wire coating, and polishing. Other waxes include palm wax, which is secreted to cover the surface of palm trees; sweet potato wax, which is found in sugarcane stalks and is obtained as a by-product of the sugar industry; jojoba wax (also called jojoba oil, an oily wax) obtained from the seeds of Simmondsia californica , which is a Buxaceae plant found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico; and wax obtained by rotting and crushing the bark of plants in the Ilex and Acanthaceae families. Wood wax, which is obtained by squeezing or extracting the peel of the Japanese wax tree, is also widely used as a wax mold material, a fiber treatment agent, and cosmetics. …
