…the general term for the indigenous peoples of central Chile. They lived between 30° and 43° south latitude, with the Picunche people living north of the Biobío River and the Mapuche and Huiliche peoples south of that. Blessed with a warm climate, they made their living through agriculture and livestock farming, influenced by the Andean civilization, and had a large population.
