A former town in Naka District, central Tokushima Prefecture. It occupies the mountainous area in the middle reaches of the Naka River, and its main town of Nobuno is located along National Route 195. Development based on the Naka River Comprehensive Development is progressing, and the Hinoya Power Station and Kawaguchi Power Station are located there. The town produces timber, tea, and other products. In March 2005, it merged with Washiki Town, Kaminaka Town, Kizawa Village, and Kitou Village in Naka District to become Naka Town.
