A general term for the languages ​​of the Berber people. Along with the Semitic languages, Egyptian, Cushitic, and Chadic languages, it is part of the Afro-Asiatic (Hamitic-Semitic) family. There are approximately 10 million speakers in North Africa. Examples include Tamasheq (Algeria, Niger, Mali), Sirha (Morocco), Kabyle, and M'zab (Algeria).
