...The black-spotted firefly Pyrocoelia fumosa and the brown-spotted firefly Cyphonocerus ruficollis are diurnal fireflies, but they emit a weak light from a vestigial light organ. The male Akimado firefly P. rufa is about 17 mm long, and the wingless female is about 30 mm long, making it the largest species of firefly found in Japan. It is found in Tsushima, the Korean Peninsula, and China.
