The name of an asteroid. It was the fourth asteroid discovered on March 29, 1807, by Olbers of Germany. Its semi-major axis is 2.361 AU, its eccentricity is 0.089, its inclination is 7.1 degrees, and it is located at the inner edge of the asteroid belt. Its size is estimated to be 538 km in diameter and its density is 3.3 ± 1.5 grams per cubic centimeter. Its rotation period is 5.342 hours, its geometric albedo (reflectivity) is 0.229, and its surface composition is similar to that of differentiated stony meteorites called basaltic achondrites. Meteoriticists believe that this asteroid is the parent body of achondrite meteorites. [Takanori Matsui] [References] | | |Located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. Diameter 538 km.
