Heguri no Tsuku

Japanese: 平群木菟 - へぐりのつく

A powerful clan that appears in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki.
Son of Takeuchi no Sukune. Said to be the ancestor of the Heguri clan. Born on the same day as Emperor Nintoku. He was active in diplomacy, having been sent to Baekje (Korea) and Kara (Korea), and is said to have helped Emperor Richu in the struggle for the succession to the throne after Emperor Nintoku's death. In the Kojiki, his name is written as Tsuku.

記・紀にみえる豪族。
武内宿禰(たけしうちのすくね)の子。平群氏の祖とされる。仁徳(にんとく)天皇と同日に生まれたという。百済(くだら)(朝鮮),加羅(から)(朝鮮)につかわされるなど,外交で活躍し,仁徳天皇没後の皇位継承争いでは履中天皇をたすけたといわれる。「古事記」では名は都久とかく。
