?-? A powerful clan leader in the first half of the 6th century.
Son of Otomo no Kanamura. According to the "Nihon Shoki," in the second year of the reign of Emperor Senka (537), when Silla invaded Mimana in Korea, his father Kanamura, on the orders of the Emperor, dispatched Iwa and his younger brother Satehiko to rescue Mimana. Iwa stayed in Tsukushi, managed the national affairs, and strengthened defenses against Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla.

大伴金村(かなむら)の子。「日本書紀」によれば,宣化(せんか)天皇2年(537)朝鮮で新羅(しらぎ)が任那(みまな)を侵攻した際,天皇の命をうけた父金村は,磐とその弟狭手彦(さてひこ)とを任那救援に派遣。磐は筑紫(つくし)にとどまって,その国政をつかさどり,高句麗(こうくり),百済(くだら),新羅に対する防備をかためた。
