Born: Around 1370. Arezzo [Died] March 9, 1444. Italian humanist and historian from Florence. Also known as Leonardo Aretino. Secretary to the Papal Court in 1405, Chancellor of Florence in 1427. Wrote the positive History of Florence (Historiarum Florentini Populi libri XII) in Latin. Other works include Latin translations of Greek classics, and biographies of Dante and Petrarch.
