Yoshimura Akamatsu

Year of birth: Unknown. A military commander in the Warring States period. Son of Shichijo Masasuke, descendant of Norimura's eldest son Norisuke. Shugo of Harima, Bizen, and Mimasaka. Childhood name Doso Matsumaru. Commonly known as Jiro. Hyobu Shoyu. Married Akamatsu Masanori's daughter Matsu Goryonin, and succeeded as head of the family after Masanori's death in 1496. However, most of the real power in the domain was held by Masanori's widow Doshoin and his senior vassal Uragami Norimune. From around 1508, he raised former Shogun Ashikaga Yoshizumi's son Kameomaru (Yoshiharu), and allied himself with Yoshizumi and Hosokawa Sumimoto, coming into conflict with Doshoin, who supported Shogun Ashikaga Yoshitane and Hosokawa Takakuni. He then came into conflict with Uragami Muramune (Norimune's grandson). In 1521, he became a monk and took the name Seiin, but in 1521, he was imprisoned in Murotsu, Harima by Muramune and later murdered.

戦国時代の武将。則村の長男範資の裔七条政資の子。播磨・備前・美作守護。幼名道祖松丸。通称次郎。兵部少輔。赤松政則の娘松御料人と結婚し,明応5(1496)年政則の没後,惣領家を継いだ。しかし領国支配の実権は,ほとんど政則の未亡人洞松院と老臣浦上則宗に握られていた。永正5(1508)年ごろより前将軍足利義澄の子亀王丸(義晴)を養育して義澄,細川澄元と結び,将軍足利義稙,細川高国を支持する洞松院と対立した。次いで浦上村宗(則宗の孫)とも対立して抗争した。永正17年出家して性因と名乗ったが,大永1(1521)年,村宗によって播磨室津に幽閉されたのち殺害された。
