〘名〙① 黄色の紙。また、そめて黄色にした紙。※言継卿記‐大永七年（1527）二月一六日「予大集経の十と十八と二巻〈略〉くはられ候了、予筆立仕候了黄紙上下計堺をかけ候。すき堺にて書之、六行堺」② 江戸時代の訴訟文書の一つ。奉行所が老中に罪人の刑罰につき指示を仰ぐ時、吟味伺書(ぎんみうかがいしょ)に添付して提出した黄色い紙片。御定書百箇条を引用して、三奉行が適当と考えた刑罰が記されている。※禁令考‐後集・第四・巻三七・延享二年（1745）九月「此以後之御仕置付は、向々より伺出候黄紙之文言を相認」
