A small bay in the northern part of Alaska, USA. It faces the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic Ocean, 320 km east-southeast of Cape Barrow. Oil development has been carried out here since oil was discovered there in 1968. A 1,300 km pipeline was completed in 1977 to transport crude oil to Valdez at the back of Prince William Sound on the Gulf of Alaska side.
