Born February 13, 1930. Austrian painter from Vienna. A representative painter of the movement known as the Vienna Fantastic School. Studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. Excellent at describing things from an early age, he began exhibiting his work while still a student at the art school. He chose subjects from ancient mythology and the Old Testament, and created mystical images with minute detail. Although A. Rehmden, E. Brauer, and R. Hausner also belonged to the same tendency, Fuchs's works are particularly notable for their mystical and sensual nature. In 1959, he published "The Pintrarium Manifesto" together with Hundertwasser and others.
