A Chinese scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. Born in Tongcheng County, Anhui Province. His courtesy name was Zhifu. He was a Jinshi in 1865 (the 4th year of the Tongzhi era). He joined the Cabinet Secretariat, and was recognized by Zeng Guofan and became his staff member. Later, he was also trusted by Li Hongzhang. He was an excellent writer, and it is said that many of the petitions and commentaries written by both Zeng and Li were written by Ru Lun. When he became the governor of Shenzhou and Jizhou, he worked to promote education and culture, and took unconventional actions such as promoting innovative governance. Later, at the recommendation of Li Hongzhang, he lectured at Lotus Pond Academy, and in 1902 (the 28th year of the Guangxu era), he was recommended by Zhang Baixi, the Minister of Education, to become the head instructor of the Great University of the Capital, and visited Japan for an inspection. After returning to Japan, he built a small school in his hometown and died the following year. His works include Shenzhou Fudoki (20 volumes) and Dongyou Conglu (4 volumes).

中国,清末の学者。安徽省桐城県の人。字は摯甫。同治4 (1865) 年の進士。内閣中書に入り,曾国藩に認められてその幕僚となり,のち李鴻章にも信任された。文にすぐれ,曾,李両人の奏疏の多くは汝綸の手になったものと伝えられる。また深州,冀州の長官となった際には,文教の高揚に努め,斬新な治政を推進するなど型破りな行動がみられた。のち李鴻章のすすめで蓮池書院で講じ,光緒 28 (1902) 年には,管学大臣張百煕の推薦で京師大学堂総教習となり,視察のため来日した。帰国後郷里に小学堂を建て翌年没した。著書に『深州風土記』 (20巻) ,『東遊叢録』 (4巻) などがある。
