Year of death: October 15, 1925 Year of birth: January 1, 1900 (Meiji 33) A nihilistic social activist of the Taisho period. Born in Tokyo as the second son of a government official. After graduating from Azabu Middle School in 1917, he entered Waseda University's higher preparatory school and then the university's English and law department (later transferring to the political science and economics department), where he participated in the university's Minjin Doumokai and Kensetsusha Doumo. In 1917, he formed the Kosakuninsha with Watanabe Yoshitoshi and Nagashima Arata, and became chief editor of the university's newsletter, Kosakunin. After meeting Nakahama Satoshi, he formed the Rebel Club (later the Guillotinesha). He was involved in the Kosaka Incident (1923), in which a bank employee was stabbed to death during a bank raid to raise funds, and then the assassination of General Fukuda Masataro (1924), which aimed to exact revenge on Osugi Sakae and his associates. Sentenced to death by the Tokyo District Court, he was executed without appeal.
