Skipjack tuna pole-and-line fishing boat

...Previously, one fishing boat conducted pole-and-line fishing for bonito from around March/April to around October, and longline fishing for tuna from around November to around March.

Ships vary in size from 20 tons to 500 tons, but most large ships over 100 tons are made of steel. Smaller ships were mostly made of wood, but due to a shortage of materials and manpower, they began to be made of FRP (reinforced plastic).
