Born November 15, 1882 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. [Died] February 22, 1965, Washington DC, USA American lawyer. He immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1894. He graduated from the City University of New York and Harvard Law School. He was a professor at Harvard Law School from 1914 to 1939, and was an active voice on social issues from a progressive perspective. In 1939, he was appointed to the Supreme Court by President F.
