〘Noun〙 A game in which people bring their own nightingales and compete to see who can sing the best. In the Middle Ages, it was popular as a kind of game of matching, and has been widely played since the early modern period. Matching . Nightingale gathering. 《Season・Spring》※Kyōgenkyōki - 14th April, 1409 (16th year of the Oei Era) "This morning, nightingales gathered at Hakutei (the Left Minister of State and others)."
