It is commonly known as Planck's formula. It is a formula that shows the ratio of light of various wavelengths contained in radiation that is in thermal equilibrium with an object at absolute temperature T. When an object is heated, it begins to glow a dull red, then yellow, then pale blue, and finally becomes incandescent. This is because the amount of light with short wavelengths increases as the temperature rises, and Planck's formula expresses this well for ideal objects called black bodies. In 1901, M. Planck published this formula as a formula that closely reproduced experiments on thermal radiation, and efforts to theorize it led to the energy quanta hypothesis.
