...It is based on the Cochise culture, which is considered to be an archaic culture, and is characterized by small villages supported by agricultural activities. The Mogollon culture (100 BC - 1400 AD) is divided into five periods. The settlements of periods 1 to 4 consisted of pit dwellings covered with earth or stones, and were located on high ground such as ridges and cliffs.
