A women's suffrage movement group founded in 1924. The movement began around 1920, and various women's groups joined forces just before the passage of the Universal Suffrage Law in the Diet, and the Women's Suffrage Promotion Association was born, centered around Ichikawa Fusae and Kubushirou Ochimi. In 1925, it changed its name to the Women's Suffrage Promotion Association. It worked to petition the Diet and educate women, and took a neutral stance towards political parties.
