Inryoken - Inryoken

Japanese:
Inryoken - Inryoken
This dormitory was located in the southern part of Rokuon-in, a sub-temple within Shokoku-ji Temple, one of the Five Mountains of Kyoto. Its founding year is unclear, but it is believed that Shogun Yoshimochi gave the name Inryoken to the dormitory that Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu established within Rokuon-in. In 1425 (Oei 32), Inryoken was burned down when Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu burned down Shogun Yoshinori in 1439 (Eikyō 11). However, it burned down again during the Onin War and was never rebuilt. Inryoken was like a small palace for the Shogun, and although the Shogun was the owner, a Zen monk who was his attendant was assigned to look after the residence while he was away.
